Undergrad & Medical School
Dr. Claiborne distinguished himself as an exemplary student throughout his academic career. As an undergraduate at the University of Virginia, he was admitted into the exclusive Echols Scholar program and graduated in the top 1% of his class. With an academic achievement medical school scholarship, he then returned home to attend the Louisiana State University School of Medicine - New Orleans.
At LSU, Dr. Claiborne graduated at the top of his medical school class. During his studies, he won the Norma C. Ragland Academic Achievement Award, earned two scholarships, and was selected for entrance by Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He also presented breast reconstruction and skin condition research at the American College of Surgeons annual Louisiana meeting while still a student.
Residency & Fellowship
Dr. Claiborne’s already impressive achievements earned him admission into Wake Forest University’s world-renowned plastic surgery residency program. He set himself apart from his highly qualified colleagues by publishing and presenting more than 30 plastic surgery research projects.
