About Your Procedure
Setting up your pre-surgery consult is one of the most important details of any type of cosmetic surgery. Something our patients enjoy about the consultation is the personal approach by Dr. Boudreaux and the staff to be able to meet and filter through the expectations while suggesting the proper procedure for you.
Facelift
Achieving the overall more youthful appearance with a full face lift is often something our patients are striving for. A facelift procedure is customized to suit each person individually. The face lift surgery is performed in an outpatient surgical center where you are administered general anesthesia. Typically Dr. Boudreaux places his incisions in the hair line and around the ear. We often have you come into the office to see Dr. Boudreaux the day following surgery, one week when sutures are typically removed and then at one month to monitor your healing process. If you aren’t quite ready for the full face lift, ask about a mini or modified face lift.
Neck Lift
Along with the normal wear of aging you may experience sagging skin and loss of muscle definition along the neckline. These conditions are treated with a Neck lift. The neck lift procedure requires you to be placed under general anesthesia. Small incisions made by Dr. Boudreaux are usually made behind the ear where he then removes any excess tissue and tightens the muscles. Quite often patients will add Liposuction to this procedure to ensure a more tapered neck line. This is done when a tiny incision is made underneath the chin and then a canula is used for suction. Following your procedure you will need to sleep elevated with compression bandages on.
Brow Lift
Brow lift or forehead lift is one that is commonly used for correction of fine lines that develop horizontally across your forehead, Vertical creases along the area between the brows and drooping brows. If these are bothersome signs of aging to you then you may be an ideal candidate for a brow lift. Brow lift is sometimes combined with other surgical procedures such as Upper and Lower blepharoplasty for maximum result. Healing time for this procedure is typically 10 to 14 days, during this time you may experience swelling and bruising.
Blepharoplasty
Eyelid surgery is a very common surgery whether it is for cosmetic or functional impairment. The delicate skin around the eyes is usually where we experience some of the first signs of aging. Blepharoplasty can be done on the upper and lower lids to correct drooping lids that can cause visual complications or puffiness and sagging under the lid. This surgery is often combined with brow lift and/or facelift for the overall youthful appearance you are looking to achieve. Down time is minimal, however you will experience moderate swelling or bruising around the eyes for about 10 to 14 days. Incisions made for this surgery are made in the natural crease of the eye lid so that scaring can be concealed.
Facial Fat Transfer
Aside from gravity working its magic and causing creases and wrinkling, Volume loss in the face is also an important concern. This is often resolved with fillers like Restylane or Juvederm that are commonly done in the office setting with little down time. If longevity is something that is more important to you then facial fat grafting may be something to discuss with Dr. Boudreaux during consult. This procedure will correct hollow or depleted areas of your face that are causing you to have a more aged look. Fat grafting is done by having liposuction to an area and the fat is then harvested and injected into areas like the cheeks, lips and underneath the eye. When you have a more full appearance to your face it will also enhance the tone and texture causing you to have a more radiant appearance.
